高雄港是台灣第一、世界第15大港口，原稱打狗港（Takau Port），現有百餘個碼頭（參考維基）。從駁二坐文化遊艇到紅毛港，航程約40分鐘，沿途盡是高雄港的景色。
The Port of Kaohsiung is the largest harbour in Taiwan. This port is also the “Takau Port” in history (wikipedia). Our cultural boat from Pier-2 to Hongmaogang travelled through the port and we could enjoy the harbour views the whole way. Continue reading
繞了中央公園小半圈，我們發現公園旁有棟特別的建築。走近看看，先看到蝙蝠車，才知道這是周董的JCAFE，於是決定進去休息一下。之後再慢慢走到駁二碼頭，發現離出發還有兩個小時，這是腳程太快？還是誤估了距離？沒關係，老外喜歡慢慢來，我們就買飲料、找地方坐坐，看書、賞景、拍照，自娛一番。
After walking around in Central Park, we found JCAFE nearby Urban Spotlight side. This is a restaurant owned by famous Taiwanese singer Jay Chou. We enjoyed a relaxing hour there and continued our way to the Pier-2 Art Center. When we arrived the pier, we realised that we were 2 hours too early for departure. 買好下午三點四十分往紅毛港文化園區的船票，我們決定在飯店用了早餐後，開始步行到駁二碼頭去坐船。途中去了美麗島站重溫”光之穹頂”的艷麗、穿過中央公園欣賞這城市的綠地、在城市光廊旁誤闖到周董的JCAFE。在JCAFE午休後，繼續路程，經過輕軌真愛碼頭站後，就在駁二附近瞎逛、等待出發去紅毛港。這輯分享從飯店經美麗島站到中央公園的照片。
The highlight of this day was visiting Hongmaogang Cultural Park. We have booked the ticket of 15:40pm, departing from Pier-2 by boat. Therefore, we decided to walk from our hotel to Pier-2. We went through the Formosa Boulevard MRT station to visit its “Dome of Light”, the largest glass work in the world. Then, we walked to Kaohsiung Central Park and have a rest at JCAFE. 下午四點許，我們乘渡輪去旗津，租了四輪車、騎到彩虹教堂拍照，再折回旗後砲台賞景。可惜天氣不好，沒日落可拍。從旗津回來，我們去了國賓大飯店吃粵菜，為一天的行程劃上美好的句號。
The last destination of the day was Cijin District, or Cijin Island. We only visited the north part of the island, namely the Rainbow Church and Cihou Fort. It’s quite pity that we couldn’t enjoy the sunset here due to wheather. We left Cijin when it’s getting dark and ended at Ambassador Kaohsiung with delicious Cantonese style dinner. Continue reading

仔細數數，巴特有六年多沒來台灣玩了。本來想東南西北走一圈，但兩個星期加上老外悠閒式的走法，根本去不了幾個地方。最後決定從南往北移動，第一站就是高雄。2011年，在我們的環島旅行中路過高雄，只在這宿了一晚（參考舊文）。這次跟同學欣旻相約，到高雄玩兩天。第一天中午到高雄，有欣旻一家接待，來個高雄半日遊，去了哈瑪星鐵道文化園區、駁二藝術特區和旗津。第二天，我倆自己走走看看，去了紅毛港文化園區。這輯分享的是從新竹出發到高雄的照片。
Since summer 2011, Bart didn’t visit Taiwan for more than 6 years. He would like to have a round tour again through Taiwan, but it seems impossible in two weeks. Thus, we decided to visit only the west coast, from south to north. Kaohsiung (or Gaoxiong) is our first destination. Candace, my HE96 classmate of NTNU, has invited us to be her guests for a half day tour to Hamasen Railway Cultural Park, the Pier-2 Art Center, and Cijin. 休息了一天，我們開始熱身，先去湖口和鶯歌老街逛逛。湖口，曾經是新竹北部的商業重鎮，居民以客家人為多，現今老街翻修後為旅遊景點。鶯歌，台灣的景德鎮，以出產陶瓷品聞名。我們去逛鶯歌老街欣賞陶藝，友人順道物色茶缸。逛了湖口和鶯歌老街，晚上就回新竹的鼎盛十里吃火鍋，還有打點往高雄—台南—台中—台北、共十天的行裝。
After having rest for a day, we began our warm-up trip to Hukou and Yingge Old Street. Hukou used to be an important commercial town of Hsinchu. Its old street is one of the tourist attractions nowadays. Yingge is famous with its production of porcelain. Its old street, or Yingge Pottery Street, is a great location to shop for ceramic and porcelain products. In the evening, we went to have hotpot as dinner. 兩週的旅程告一段落，又在回荷蘭的路上了！這幾年都坐半夜的直飛班機回荷蘭，抵達荷蘭的時間都是早上六、七點，基本上沿途都是黑夜。這是第一次坐凌晨三點的班機，加上在杜哈轉機，抵達荷蘭的時間就變成下午一點，好處是後半段路程不睡覺的話還有景色看。這輯全是從吉隆坡—杜哈—荷蘭的照片，主要是杜哈國際機場和航拍沿途的景色。

在回荷蘭前，到吉隆坡停留兩天，跟大妹聚聚。忙碌的她沒太多時間帶我四處去（其實也不知道吉隆坡還有什麽好玩的），第一天就約了湘群出來遛了一天，第二天去購物中心買點手心，第三天凌晨就坐飛機回荷蘭了。這次說了不買衣服，也真的一件衣服也沒買（給自己一個讚！）。拖著30公斤的行李回馬，再拖幾乎等重的十幾本書和手信回來，就翻過這一篇了。
Before coming back to the Netherlands, I stayed at Kuala Lumpur for two days to visit Jessie. As I’m been at KL for some many times, I didn’t have any places to visit in mind actually. Therefore, I spent the first day with Jessie and XiangQun, went shopping with Jessie the 2nd day, and left KL in midnight of the 3rd day. During this trip, I promised myself not to buy any clothes and I made it. I have exchanged my 30 kgs of Dutch cookies and chocolates with almost the same weight of books (10+ pcs) and gifts. 離家遠的難處就是不能常常回家，而且想回家還得排期。趁著脫離寫論文的苦海、又還沒找到新的工作，就利用自由業者的好處，決定回家一趟。不到一天的時間，就從有回家的念頭到買下了機票，神速！當然這應驗了有儲備基金的好處：不必考慮錢的問題。因為答應了巴特的同事去給他們拍照片（Beekse Bergen動物園一日遊），就緩至9號才啟程。這趟不趕時間，選了卡達爾航空得在杜哈轉機的非直飛班機，能省約200歐元，但行程就變得很長。從恩荷芬出發算起，花了31個小時才到美里家門。
Staying far away from home is always difficult to meet family. Year over year, my parents’re getting older and with empty nest nowadays. It drives me to visit them more frequently last times. That’s why I took the opportunity as a freelance to visit them again in October for 2 weeks. Having 10 days in Miri without “tourist” accompany, I enjoyed the time just together with friends and families. The photos in Miri will be shared in 2 parts. Continue reading
